We will be welcoming winemaker Catarina Vieira of Herdade do Rocim! Hailing from Alentejo, Portugal, Herdade do Rocim's mission is to produce wines in a sustainable manner, respecting the social, cultural and natural matrix of the region. Our tastings are meant to be enjoyed at your own pace, so simply join us at the pouring station whenever you're ready for a taste. Complimentary cheese and crackers will be provided, and our full menu is also available. Reservations are not required, but always accepted!
Catarina Vieira will be here! She and her husband make lovely wine in the Alentejo region of Portugal (southern half). We’ll have open her white, rosé, and red (shop fave, “Fresh from Amphora”). Available by the glass or taste all three and Chef David Saffles has a fun Portuguese dish up his sleeve. We can’t wait to meet and host the lovely Catarina!
Join us for a 5 course dinner paired with 4 wines, guided by Portuguese winemaker Catarina Vieira.
Located in the Lower Alentejo region in the southern half of Portugal lies the estate of Herdade do Rocim. Catarina Vieira has been coordinating the development of the estate and believes that Alentejo has the unique conditions required to produce world-class, age worthy wines. Since purchasing the estate, Caterina invested greatly in the land by completely regenerating the vineyards and building a new state of the art winery. She focuses on indigenous, organic wines that are “elegant and sober, with freshness and minerality”, and are also “very gastronomic”.
We are honored to have Catarina join us all the way from Portugal to lead this special event.

Five Star Sensation 2019 has been reimagined with a new look and new features, along with some of the country’s top chefs and vintners. As always, the evening will feature amazing fare, spectacular wines, and a very special silent auction, all for the benefit of UH Seidman Cancer Center, which touches so many lives each and every day.
Anne Amie Vineyards, a family owned winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, will once again visit the great state of Michigan this June. Instead of the traditional wine dinner, Thomas Houseman, winemaker and avid cyclist, brings an element of summer fun with a series of progressive winemaker dinners on bicycle called Fête d’ Été (summer party), aptly named for that magical time on the cusp of summer.
In each city, we will travel between 5 restaurants atop bicycles, with the entire dinner party in tow. Each ride, very casual in nature, will encompass no more than 12 total miles round trip. At each restaurant, chefs will pair their dish with one Anne Amie Vineyards wine. This offers a unique, incredibly joyful experience and a fresh perspective of each city , not to mention it’s great for digestion!. Fête d’ Été dinners have been held in Cleveland, Toledo and Columbus (2012, 2014, 2016 & 2018), as well as Detroit, Ann Arbor and Traverse City (2015, 2017). It has been embraced by each of the restaurant communities, with everyone working together to bring an amazing energy and enthusiasm to this fun event.
